The Treasure Vase system was fully developed over 3000 years ago and later adopted by the Buddhist masters to help them as they traveled about through various harsh conditions to transmit dharma practice. In all there are 97 techniques for protection and survival, the Hanmi school teaches 3 of those techniques in the Treasure Vase class with the Outer Qi Generating and Releasing methods. This practice is suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners, and will help lead the cultivator to sense the mystery of the law, or “dharma,” through integrating the Three Esoteric Practices which are mantra, mudra and visualization.
The Energizer method will help the practitioner to increase vitality and energy by producing qi, they will be able to heal themselves and cultivate the ability to heal others. When your mind enters a certain state, then your body produces a kind of light. Buddhists call it the “Self Spiritual Light.” When the Self Spiritual Light appears, it can excite the innate abilities of the body. Every kind of energy within the body brought forth in this manner can fight against aging, resist all kinds of illness, and open up one’s wisdom.
The Body Warming and Body Cooling techniques will help the body adapt to extreme weather conditions. When it is hot, you can cool yourself, when it is cold, you can warm yourself. The principle that keeps one insulated from the harshness of the environment is purity and stillness of being, in which the mind and heart join as one in neutrality, without thought or emotion of right or wrong, or non-judgment. With the mind pure and still, the body comes under the complete influence of the mind, and then the body will not change as the environment changes. These very simple methods can be felt even the first time practiced, but it takes diligence to continue on and overcome the wandering thoughts that deter one from entering stillness.
